Jesus dies on the Cross

Focus: Abortion -an act of destruction against God’s creation

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

No one but Jesus, the Son of God could have accepted such a death - a death for others. Jesus frees humanity at the cost of his own life. He gives us a lesson in self-sacrifice saying, “The one who loses his life for my sake will save it” (Mt 10:39). Jesus has preserved our life by virtue of his death. How grateful are we to him for saving us for eternity?

(Pause for meditation)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, the fate of the unborn aborted babies is also like yours. They become like you when in fulfilling the desire of their parents, they sacrifice their lives as martyrs. Each newborn child is the bringer of glad tidings to its family. But by the one single cowardly act of abortion the happiness of the unborn is taken away from them. We pray for these parents, Lord, that they may repent and be converted.

Glory be to the Father …..

Leader: Forgive us the sins committed against these little souls and have mercy on us Oh Lord!

All: Have mercy on us
