The Fourteenth Station
Jesus is laid to rest in the tomb
Focus: Love of God the final destination
Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!
All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!
For three days the sacred body of the Lord rests in the tomb. The third day reminds us of the words of Jesus: “Destroy this temple and in three days I will rebuild it” (In 2:19). The resurrection of Jesus is the key point of our faith. We believe that we too will rise again with him from our sinfulness and death.
(Pause for meditation)
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, by rising from death you wash away all the sins committed by humanity against its own kind in particular and against all of your creation. May our souls experience your love and peace. Thus may we walk in the light of the new life you have gained for us by your death on the cross amidst the darkness of death surrounding us. May the souls of all the little helpless, unborn babies and the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
Hail Mary full of grace…..
Leader: Forgive us the sins committed against these little souls and have mercy on us Oh Lord! All: Have mercy on us!
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Lord God, our Heavenly Father, you sent your only Son Jesus to us so that we may have life in its fullness. Protect the lives of the little babies whom you have sent into the wombs of mothers as your gift to the world. Let them be a sign of your salvific love to all men, an indication that you care for them and protect them in your love for your creation. Protect all babies, especially the girl child, in their mothers’ wombs. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
