Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Focus: The cry of the unborn for survival

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

The courage of Veronica, a righteous woman, was remarkable. The blood-stained face of Jesus, bruised by the sins of all humanity, moves her with compassion. Unable to stand the sight, she moves swiftly through the crowd towards Jesus with her towel to wipe the face of Jesus in order to restore its human beauty. As a token of appreciation, Jesus leaves the imprint of his face on the towel. What a miracle indeed!.....

The Seventh Station

Jesus falls the second time

Focus: Pro-Life - Gratitude to God for the Child

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

How heavy must have been the burden of our sins, making Jesus fall under the cross a second time! The rough and thorny way of the cross, the beating of the soldiers causing painful wounds, reduced his strength as he progressed towards Calvary. But as the pain and the weakness increased in Jesus, the desire of love for humanity increased in him even more. But alas! where was the person who could be the rightful recipient of that divine love?.....

The Eighth Station

Jesus consoles the women of Jerusalem

Focus: Need of awareness to protect life

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

Seeing his humiliation before the cruel crowd, the women of Jerusalem start weeping for Jesus. But Jesus, Son of God, as well as Son of Mary, required nobody’s sympathy. He turns towards the women and tells them: “Women of Jerusalem, weep not for me but for yourselves and your children” (Lk 23:28) -he acutely felt at heart their need of the Father’s mercy and salvation......

The Ninth Station

Jesus falls the third time

Focus: The unborn child - seal of creativity of God and man

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

Jesus is at the foot of the hill, his destination not too far, yet his strength fails him again and he falls beneath the Cross the third time. The soldiers too push Jesus forward faster lest he die on the way.......

The Tenth Station

Jesus is stripped of his garments

Focus:  Abortion - Mother’s womb now a Tomb

Leader: We adore you oh Christ and we praise you!

All: Because by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world!

The cruel soldiers strip Jesus of his garments and his body now lies naked before all to be mocked at. Great was the humiliation of Jesus, but the Son of God offered it up to his heavenly Father in expiation for every fall of humankind..........
