Surrounded by Enemies

(A Psalm of David, when he was fleeing from his son Absalom)

 

Psalm 3:1 O LORD , how many are my foes! How numerous are they who rise against me!

 

Psalm 3:2 How many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him‘in God!"

 

Psalm 3:3 But you are my shield, O LORD my glory, the one who holds my head high.

 

Psalm 3:4 Aloud I cry to the LORD, and from his holy hill he answers me.

 

Psalm 3:5 When I lie down to.sleep, l know I will wake up again, for the Loren is my support;

 

Psalm 3:6 if thousands should stand against me, I have no fear. I have no fear of tens of thousands who stand against me all around.

 

Psalm 3:7 Arise, O LORD Deliver me,O my God! You strike all my enemies on the jaw, you break the teethe of the wicked.

 

Psalm 3:8 Salvation comes from the LORD. May your blessing be upon your people!
